About Sri Aurobindo

Sri Aurobindo (1872-1950) was an Indian philosopher, yogi, guru, poet, and nationalist. Born Aurobindo Ghose, he was educated in England and returned to India, where he became a leader in the Indian independence movement. He later withdrew from politics to focus on spiritual practice and philosophy, developing the concept of Integral Yoga. Aurobindo’s prolific writings include “The Life Divine,” “Savitri,” and numerous essays on philosophy, yoga, and human evolution. He founded the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry, which continues to promote his teachings and legacy.
